Ruminations

.

Rumi asks:

What is your life about anyway?

Nothing but a struggle to be someone,

Nothing but a running from your own silence.

.

freedom of language, of thought and word

the pervasiveness of possibility that pushes

the boundaries ever outward

love (transitive verb)

……….love (intransitive verb)

………………..love (noun)

.

keeping from being swallowed whole

staying on the road while the backseat screeches

living hand to mouth

……….my hand across a child’s mouth

……….another mouth kissing my hand

……….food at hand feeding my ever-open mouth

.

stealing time and space

stealing words to breathe on paper

stealing plot, character, and always, hope

.

I love the dissection of the word ‘love’. It elevates this poem to the realm of masterful. This photo is the perfect response.
